Welcome to Dowdales Arts Online
Dowdales School is a Performing Arts College situated in Dalton-in-Furness, a few miles south of the beautiful English Lake District. The school has extensive links with the local community and these are highlighted in its unique commitment to education through Music, Dance and Drama. All lower school pupils receive tuition in all 3 disciplines in the school curriculum.
Outside the school day, teachers, parents and younger pupils are active in community-based ventures such as Furness Music Centre which welcomes students and adults of all ages and abilities from across the region and Dowdales Community Dance. Since we became a specialist school we have developed effective and exciting partnerships with Regional and National institutions including the Royal Opera House, the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Youth Theatre. We have close links with Creative Futures Cumbria and we are a Creative Partnerships "Change" school.
