Welcome to Furness Music Centre. We are a true community music centre in the Furness Peninsula in South Cumbria, catering for all ages and abilities of people who want to make music with others.
If you are an orchestral or choral musician, you may like to join one of our groups at our Saturday Music School, and enjoy ensemble music or singing in a choir. If you a music lover who is looking to learn more about concerts in the region, there are many events throughout the year that you are welcome to attend, and we are certain that you will find something to suit your musical preference!
We also offer a two year twilight study course for the GCSE Music qualification - open to all ages.

If you have a chamber group wishing to take part, please call 469812. Fees are £20 per group for the weekend. Individuals are welcome and the cost is £5 per person.

THE FIERY FURNESS sing at THE FIRST EVER FMC Annual Awards Dinner &Choral Concert. October 16th. Fiery Furness directed by John Powell and FMC Community Choir perform at The Coot on the Tarn, Great Urswick. Concert 7pm. Dinner with music - 9pm. All proceeds to Friends of Furness Music Centre - registered charity. Tickets £25 (non members) / £20 (members). Concert only - £10. Black Tie.

London Choral Trip - April 1st-3rd 2011. Singing at St Paul's Church (The Actor's Church) in Covent Garden, Shopping & Show in London's West End
Rotary Choral Concert - April 6th. All choir members who go to London are involved with this charity concert. 7pm, Barrow. Venue TBD.
Over The Sands- May 6th 2011. Choral Event in Morecambe for all choir members involved in the London tour. Coach from Dowdales 4:00pm. Concert - 7.30pm Morecambe Central Methodist Church.

Annual Carol Concert - Dalton Church Wednesday December 8th, 7pm
BRAND NEW 2 Year Course involving performance, composition and listening. Covers a wide range of music and genres. This is an EXPRESS course - Students should play an instrument or sing solo confidently, and read music. New candidates now being accepted for next course beginning September 2010. Fee £60 per term plus exam entry and text books.

Come and Sing with the Furness Community Choir on a fun-filled trip to London, followed by Spring concerts in Morecombe and Barrow-in-Furness. All welcome. 5 compulsory rehearsals during Spring term on Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons - please enquire.
